May is the starring character of Pokémon Advanced, she is based upon the female character playable in the Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire videogame. She is supposed to be ten years old, no matter what her body or her fans say. She loves cycling, and just like Misty, she joins Ash in his journeys because her bike was destroyed by his Pikachu. Her little brother Max also appears in the TV series. Her Japanese name is Haruka.
